DescriptionThe Allegany County District Attorney’s Office will be sponsoring an all day conference on April 27, 2012. Our guest speaker for the morning session is Ms. Susan Still.  Ms. Still was a victim of domestic violence for 24 years with her husband.  The last straw was when he forced their then 13 year old son to videotape him beating his mother.  He was given the longest sentence ever given in NY for domestic violence where a victim survived.  36 years. Ms. Still and her son Dane now travel the country given presentations on this subject. She has appeared on Oprah, Dateline and recently on Oprah’s lifeclass.  Our guest speaker for the afternoon session is Mr. Art Mason from LifeSpan.  He will be speaking on the topic of elder abuse.  At the end of the conference we will be having our awards and recogonition ceremony where are guest speakers will be Senator Cathy Young, District Attorney Keith Slep and a representive from Congressman Tom Reeds office.  The time is 8:30 to 4p.m. and breakfast and lunch will be provided.  The cost is $50.  If anyone would like to attend, please contact me on or before April 20, 2012.
